What is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive body sculpting treatment that freezes unwanted fat cells. It targets areas of stubborn fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, and under the chin. Using cold temperatures, CoolSculpting® damages fat cells without harming the skin, shrinking pockets of fat and reshaping your figure.

How Does CoolSculpting® Work?

CoolSculpting® works using a technique called cryolipolysis. This process breaks up fat cells by lowering the temperature. Fat cells begin to freeze at a temperature that leaves skin cells unharmed. These fat cells crystallize and break apart, signaling your body to remove them. Your lymphatic system responds and filters away the fat cells, leaving the area slimmer and more defined. 

How Much Does CoolSculpting® Cost?

You may find that different facilities offer different prices on CoolSculpting®. While some may offer lower prices, they may not have the skill or training to provide a superior experience. CoolSculpting® costs vary according to your treatment plan. 

  • Most people will need two or more treatments
  • You may have a single area treated or several simultaneously
  • Specials on CoolSculpting® may occasionally be available

The manufacturer of CoolSculpting® reports that the average treatment costs $3200. A small area, such as under the chin, will cost less. Having several areas treated, such as the abdomen and flanks, will increase the cost. Is There Any Downtime After CoolSculpting®?

Since CoolSculpting® is non-invasive, you will have no skin damage. CoolSculpting® requires no downtime, and you can resume all your usual activities immediately. You may notice redness, sensitivity, numbness, or other minor effects that last a few hours to a few days. We will provide instructions to follow after treatment, including a massage of the treated area to break up fat. 

How Long Does it Take to See CoolSculpting® Results?

CoolSculpting® results develop over time as your body removes the damaged fat cells. You may notice a difference after a few weeks to a month. However, full results take three months to develop. Once these fat cells have been removed, they will never come back. As a result, CoolSculpting® results can last a lifetime if your weight remains fairly consistent. 

Am I a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting®?

Good candidates for CoolSculpting® have pockets of stubborn fat they want to target. Ideal candidates are at or near their target weight, but almost anyone can see improvements in their problem areas. CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss treatment. Good candidates have reasonable expectations and no significant health issues.
